In May this year the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) relaunched its Safer Spaces campaign to tackle sexual violence at major music events. More than 100 festivals have signed up to the campaign. Whilst Americana music in the UK remains driven by smaller venues and grass roots touring, the genre has its own challenges around inclusivity, diversity and audience perception. In this panel we hear from artists, industry professionals and campaigners who are trying to make live music an inclusive, welcoming experience for everyone.
Moderator: Roger Wilson (Black Lives in Music)
Panelists: Lauren Down (End of the Road Festival), Rich Legate (Attitude is Everything), Ruth Lyons (Artist), Phoebe Rodwell-Carson (AIF), Katy Rose Bennett (Artist)
