The Last Hurrah to the Borderline in Honour of Barry Everitt - a night of Great Americana Music, all proceeds to Teenage Cancer Trust.
The Last Hurrah for the Borderline in honour of Barry Everitt, who promoted the Borderline for a decade back in the 1990s, takes place on Friday 26th July.
“The UK Americana scene owes a lot to Barry Everitt as a pioneer in bringing great bands to the Borderline throughout the 1990s and often giving UK Americana artists their first gig – he was a champion on new music and helped many music fans discover artists they still love today. Through Barry the Borderline became known as the Americana (Alt Country) venue to play at, it only felt right to host a night in his honour now we know this iconic venue is closing” Stevie Freeman CEO Americana Music Association UK.
“The Americana community is strong in the UK and this is in no small way down to Barry Everitt. Barry always supported Teenage Cancer Trust so all money raised by this event to celebrate and honour both Barry and the venue”.
We are pleased to announce performances by
DANNY & THE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD – Former Grand Drive frontman comes together with his fine band of merry men to pay their respects.
THE SNAKES are back. Variously dubbed the ‘new heroes of British country rock’ and ‘Muswell Hill’s own Whiskeytown’, they took an extended hiatus in the wake of their third album The Last Days Of Rock & Roll which had shown them expanding on their established alt-country repertoire of Stonesesque country swagger and soulful Celtic folk to take in the dirty rock & roll of Mott The Hoople and Mink DeVille, while sharing a bottle of bourbon with Tom Petty and Bob Dylan along the way. In the interim Simon Moor and Johnny O’Sullivan have been exploring late 60s psych-pop as the Hot Snake Time Machine, and guitarist Richard Davies has recorded a solo album. Earlier this year they reconvened at Nick Beer’s studio in Wiltshire along with original drummer Dan Tilbury, and with Nick – previously a studio Snake – on keyboards. Now they’re ready to return as a fresh-minted five-piece and where better to kick-off than at the Borderline in celebration of their strong supporter and great fan the much-missed Barry Marshall-Everitt.
THE ALAN TYLER SHOW - Rockingbirds frontman Alan Tyler’s acoustic country music show, featuring Patrick Ralla on guitar and Jim Morrison on fiddle.
Compered by BEX MARSHALL-EVERITT – wife of Barry Everitt and 4 time European Blues Award Nominee for Female Acoustic Artist.

Members can read more about this here and then log in to the members area for the links to apply:
The Artist Mentoring Programme supports early stage career folk, roots and acoustic musicians towards export and business preparedness. This programme will enable artists to understand the national and international music industry and their place within it. On completion of the EFEx Artist Mentoring Programme, we expect artists to be ‘export ready’ for new and international markets. Over 12 months, participants will study selected areas of the music industry, developing their awareness, widening networks and creating a strategy tailored to suit their own business needs. By the end of the course, participants will have a firm understanding of the roles and responsibilities of different parts of the sector, developed new contacts and networks within the industry and have a clear road map for them to follow in the next stage of their careers.
